Improving
Efficiency: Nozzle
Arrangement
The following illustration shows
an example of an array of (flat-spray
type) nozzles. Such an arrangement
produces a curtain of water. When
the spray patterns of these nozzles
are set in one continuous line they
overlap each other, which results
in uneven distribution. Therefore,
it is better to offset the spray
patterns (as the illustration below
indicates). This avoids interference
between the streams and a relatively
good distribution is obtained. When
the object onto which a nozzle is
spraying liquid is moving continuously,
washing efficiency can, on occasion,
be improved by maintaining the stream
at an angle of attack*
of 15 degrees to the target.
